AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND EheOWERING THE MAYOR
AND THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO MAKE APPLICATION
TO THE FEEERAT, EMERGENCY AMINISTRATION OF PUBLIC
WORKS FOR A LOAN AND GRANT NOT TO EXCEED $79,000.00
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING IMPROVEMENTS OF
PUBLIC PARK, CONSISTING OF A MUNICIPAL SWIMMING POOL
AND BATH HOUSE FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND TO
MAKE ANY AND ALL OTHER AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO CARRY
OUT THE SECURING OF SAID LOAN AND GRAI+TT AND THE
CONSTRUCTION OF SAID IMPROVE'TS OF PUBLI C PARK,
CONSISTING OF MUNI MAL SWIMMING POOL AND BATH HOUSE;
AND FOR OTHER PROSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Board of Public Affairs of the
City of Little Rock are hereby authorized and empowered to take such
action as is necessary for the preparation and filing of an application
for a loan and grant from the Federal Emergency Administration of
Public Works for the construction of improvements of public park,
consisting of a municipal swimming pool and bath house for the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, at a cost not to exceed Seventy -nine Thousand
Dollars ($79,000.00).
SECTION 2. Said Mayor and Board of Public Affairs are further
authorized and empowered to make all such contracts as may be necessary
for the filing of said application and for securing said loan and grant
for the construction and completion of said swimming pool and bath house
in the event said loan and grant is authorized by the Federal Emergency
Administration of Public Works.
SECTION 3. Whereas, the time for filing of applications for
securing loans and grants from the Federal Emergency Administration of
Public Works will expire on September 3rd, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist by reason thereof and this Ordinance is found to be necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety
and the same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
