AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF PROPERTY
FOR CITY PURPOSES FOR YEAR 1935.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That the rate of taxation on real and personal
property in the City of Little Rock for City purposes for the year
1935, be and the same is hereby fixed and established and levied
as follows:
For General purposes in order to carry on the affairs of
the City Government under Section 4, Article 12, of the
Constitution of 187+, there is hereby levied a tax of 5
mills.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Funding Bond
Issue of May 1st, 1925, a tax of 3 (three) mills for the
year 1935 is hereby levied; and Ordinance No. 3789 is
hereby amended only insofar as to apply to levy for the
yeax 1935•
For the purpose of paying Bonds & Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Airport, Fire
Equipment and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November 1st,
1929, a tax of 1 1/6 mills for the year 1935 is hereby
levied.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski
County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended
on the Tax Books of Pulaski County and collected annually along
with the other taxes for the year 1935.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances only
insofar as in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this
ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage.
Section 4. Action under the terms of this ordinance is
immediately necessary if the public health program, policy and
fire protection be not seriously curtailed, and as such curtail-
ment would result in endangering the health, lives and property
of citizens of Little Rock, therefore an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after the date of its passage.
