ORDINANCE NO. 5365L
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER
INTO A LEASE, AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK AS LESSOR AND THE LITTLE ROCK ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION AS
LESSEE, TO CERTAIN PROPERTY NOW OWNED BY THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PJRPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into and execute a lease to the Little Rock &thletic Asso -
ciation upon the following described property located in Pulaski
County, City of Little hock, State of Arkansas, to -wit:
A tract of land running 300 feet east and west begin-
ning at the east property line of vain street and at
the north property line of the uissouri Pacific Rail-
way tracks and running thence east 300 feet, thence
north to the river bank, thence west down said river
bank to the east property line of Main Street, thence
south to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The consideration to be paid by the lessee to
the lessor shall be the sum of One Lollar (41.0O) per year, payable
on the first day of September of each year'in advance: Said lease
shall be dated Septemberil, 1.936, shall run for a period of five (5)
lyears ending - Lugust 31, 1941.
SECTION 3. The above lease to, be made for the further
consideration of the lessee paying all taxes and special assess-
ments, whether now levied or which may hereafter be levied or
assessed. Said taxes to be paid when due. Said lease shall further
provide that all repairs which are necessary to keep the premises .
in as good condition as they now are, shall be made at the expense
of th #;ssee and that no alterations or additions to said premises
,and improvements shall be made except upon the written consent of
Ithe lessor.
SECTION 4. Whereas, the Little Rock Athletic Associations
being an association dedicated to the betterment of the gpneral cit
izenship of the City of Little hock, and whereas said association
desires to expand its facilities, and whereas it would be for the
benefit of the peace, health and safety of the citizens of Little
Rock that such expansion be promptly made, an emergency is therefore

declared to to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
