AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE OPERATION OF CIGARETTE VEND-
ING MACHINES TO BE A PRIVILEGE; FIXING A TAX THEREON ;,
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION (F THE ORDINANCE;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. From and after the passage of this ordin-
ance the operation of cigarette vending machines shall be a
privilege for which an annual privilege tax shall be paid to

the City of Little Hock in the sum of kxxxxxxgxx=c Dollars per
machine. Every person, firi, and /or corporation owning and /or
operating any such-machine shall cause to be placed and kept on
each machine the license receipt issued by the City Collector.
SECTIv.1 2. Any person, f Ir-a and /or corporation oper-
ating any such machine without complying with the provisions of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than Five
($5.00) Dollars nor more than Twenty -five 025.00) Dollars for
each such violation.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
(conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. 7:hereas, the General Fund of the City is
lin immediate need of the revenue hereunder, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance is found to be nec-
lessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health
and safety and the same shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
