AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF ONE CARLOAD OF
OIL; TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS THEREFOR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
i IftD' BY THE 'CITY COUNCIL ,OF THE CITY OF LITTL ROM-
SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Board of Public Affairs
are hereby authorized to advertise for and receive bids for the
purchase of one car load of oil suitable for use and cf the
quality generally used for oiling the streets of the City of
Little Rock.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the
Auto and Road fund the sum of Five Hundred and Forty ($540.00)_
Dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary to pay the
purchase price of said oil.
SECTION 3. Any oil used hereby for oiling the streets
of the City of Little Rock shall be sold to property owners
desiring such oiling of streets at cost, the City to furnish
labor for same.
SECTION 4. Whereas, unoiled streets produce excessive
dust in certain sections of the City and dust causes discomfort
and road hazard, this ordinance is necessary for the.public
health and safety, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist
