! AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE
COMMISSIONERS IN ACCORDANCE -WITH ACT #322 OF THE
ACTS OF THE GENERAL AS$EMBLY OF THE STATE OF
ARKANSAS OF 1937; NAMING THE COMMISSIONERS; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES
VREREAB,, the 1937 General Assembly of the State of
��'Ark z has by Act #322 created a Board of Civil Serra:

the City of Little Rock; and ,
WHEREAS, under the terms of said Act, it is the
duty of said Council to elect three members of said Board
thereof.
NOT, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. That John P. Baird is hereby elected for
( the term ending on the first Monday in April, 1939; that

Dr. Goo. F. Jackson is hereby elect or the term ending on

first *onday in April 304 and that W. R. James is hereby

and that said men shall compose, and be the Board of Civil
Service Commissioners of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
with full force and authority to administer said Act #322.

SECTION 2. WHEREAS, the terms of Act #322 make it
mandatory upon said City Council to take steps to place said
Act in- immediate operation, an emergency is hereby declared to

exist and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety,
and the same shall be in full force and effect from and after
