ORDINANCE ## 5492
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE �ALAIIY OF THE CITY
ENGINEER OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore made
a revision of salaries for City Employees of
the -ity of 1jittle i -ock, Arkansas, as of
March 1, 10,37; and,
WHERE-A:", at that time, the .%ity Engineer's
salary 1. as fixed .!ith the jouncil believing
that said City Engineer could collect the
sum of „25.00 per month for his services
on the ijittle -pock Sewer Committee; and,
IHEREAS, it has been ascertained that under
the law, the City Engineer can not be raid
a sum for such service.
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. That the salary of the City Engineer
of the 'Jity of Kittle Mock is fixed at the sum of ;x250.00 per
month, and that said salary shall date from I;arch 1, 1937. The
!.'ayor anc pity -lerk are hereby authorized to pay said amity
Engineer the difference in the salary heretofore fixed, and the
sum of ,- 250.00 per month, ,,,hich dates from :,'.arch 1, 1937, and
hereafter to pay the regular sum of ;;250.00.
]CTION 2. "'HERE .��, said �'ity -Engineer is being
discriminated a;e.inst., in view of the :ouncil's misunderstanding
relative to la,,,,, of said ewer Committee, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this ordinance is found to be necessary
for the immediate preservation of public peace, health and
safety, and same shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
