AN ORDINANCE TO RATIFY A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR TEN
HARLEY- DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLES ENTERED INTO UNDER
ORDINANCE #5519 PASSED DECEMBER 13, 1937, AND TO
APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
TWENTY THREE AND 41 /100, OR SO MUCH THEREOF AS
MAY BE NECESSARY-TO CARRY OUT THE TERMS OF SAID
CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, on December 13, 1.937, the City Council of the
City of Little Rock duly enacted Ordinance x`5519 authorizing 4a
empowering_ the Board of Public Affairs to enter into a lease and
purchase agreement with the Winston Cycle Supply Company for the
purchase of ten Harley- Davidson motorcycles and equipment
equipping the same for use by the Little Rock Police Department;
and,
WHEREAS, in obedience to said ordinance, the Board of
Public Affairs did:, on the 10th day of January, 1938, enter into
such lease and purchase agreement with said Winston Cycle Supply
company,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

SECTION I: That the act of the Board of Public Affairs,
In entering into a certain lease agreement dated January 10, 1938,
for the lease of ten Harley- Davidson motorcycles, Model 80, with
full police equipment, including motorcycle windshield and leg
shields complete and Harley - Davidson radio receiving sets, and
exchangiag-as a part of the agreement, five old Harley- Davidson
motorcycles, Model 61 -OHV, for rental as follows:

wtth an option to purchase the above described motorcycles and
equipment on August 20, 1938, for One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-
Three and 41/1,00 Dollars. ($1693.41), should be and is hereby in
all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
SECTION 2: There is hereby appropriated out of the
general fund of the City of Little Rock, the sum of Six Thousand.
Five Hundred Twenty Three and 41 /100 Dollars ($6523.41), or so
mach thereof as may be necessary to carry out the terms of the
lease and purchase agreements above referred to in the order and
on the schedule as above set out for both the lease agreement
and the option to purchase.
SECTION 3:
Tha Soar(i of ftblle Affairs is hereby
authorized., empowered and directed, at the end of the lease
agreement, or, on or before August 20, 1938, to exercise the
option to purchase the equipment heretofore described, which
option is set out in the contract hereby ratified, for which
purchase funds are appropriated. in Section Two of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: The ratification of the contract above
described and the payment of the money herein appropriated being
necessary for the proper regulation and operation of the Little
Rock Police Department, and the regulation and operation of same
being necessary for the public peace, health and safety, an

be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
