ORDINANCE 5589,
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
OF GASOLINE, LI,UID PETROLLUM GASES AND /OR OTHER VOLATILE
LIQUIDS•, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS
ORDINANCE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANS. ?S

SECTION I. Th,�t from and after the passage
approval of this Ordinance, vehicles used for the transportation
of gasoline, liquified petroleum gases and /or other volatile
liquids, and equipped with tanks for the transportation of the
same, shall be stored and kept when not in use, and whether con-
taining gasoline, liquified petroleum gases and /or other volatile
liquids or not, only in places apprjved in advance, in writing
by the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, and in no event shall any such vehicle be stored, kept
or garaged, whether containing gasoline or not in any wooden
structure, or within the fire limits of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, as the same now exist and may hereafter be-designated.
SECTION 2. 'Any person, firm or corporation violating'
any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of !I
a misdemeanor, and upon conviction in the Little Rock Municipal
Court, shall be fined in any sum not less than Five Dollars ($5.00
nor more than One Hundred Dollars (�r100.00). All Ordinances
and parts of Ordinances conflicting herewith are hereby repealed.
ECTION 3. 'WHEREAS, the proper storage and trans-

portation of inflammable gases is necessary to the public peace)
health, and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and.
this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the protection of the {
public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in full j
force and effect upon its passage and approval.
