In Re: Proposal to Purchase #1020 West Third Street
I enclose tentative plan of insurance office building, a one
story, white brick colonial, which I would like to erect on this
property if it is permissible under the City's Zoning Ordinance.
As before explained, I am in thorough sympathy with having
Little Rock zoned so that its further development may be according
to a well laid out city plan, and,in signing an agreement to
purchase the property at #1020 'Nest Third Street, I presumed that
such a building as I had in mind for that location would fit in
acceptably in an Apartment House District.
Should it be a violation of the City Ordinance to erect such
a business office on this location, I do not desire to contest the
matter, for certainly I do not wish to force my office into any
locality where it would be objectionable to neighbors. I ask,
therefore, that you have this matter well understood so that there
shall be no doubt on the subject. Unless the City will give me a
full and valid permit to erect this building, I desire to exercise
my option of refusing to buy the property.
Will yo,a please file an application for a permit in my behalf
and with the above facts understood*
Yours truly
sib Joshua K9 hepherd
