AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN PHOPERTY "IITHIN
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO BE A NUISANCE, ORDERING
ITS REMOVAL; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, AIRKANSAS
SECTION 1. That whereas, the owner of the following
described property to —wit:

Building located on the Iyortheast corner of Second
and Sherman Streets at No. 193 Sherman Street
i
1has allowed tha building located on said property to deteriorate
t to the extent that said building has been found by the health
officer of the Little Hoc,-, City Council to be hazardous in that
it constitutes a fire hazard, and in adc_ition is dangerous to
the life and liLab of the public; and same is hereby declared
to be a nuisance. And the Chief of police is hereby instructed
.to serve the owner of said piece of property with a copy of this
.Ordinance and notify said owner that the respective piece of
'property must either be torn down and removed or remodeled within
thirty days from the date hereof.
z'ECTION 2. In the event the owner of said piece
of property cannot be located, the Chief of Police is instructed

to serve said notice by posting a copy of this Ordinance on the
front door of said building, and report such action to the Fire
Committee of the City Council.
CECTIO;t 3. The owner of the within described property
;failing or refusing to conform to the provisions of the Ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof
in the Little t'Lock `.:'unicipal Court shall be fined in any sum not
less. than Twenty —five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Three Hundred
IDollars ($300.00). i
SECTION 4. The City Attorney is hereby authorized
'and instructed to proceed to take all necessary court action in

order to secure the removal of the property herein declared to be
`a nuisance if same is not removed or remodeled within thirty days

I� aECTION 5. Due to the constant fire hazard and the
danger that this piece of property presents to the pablic safety,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being
`necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, healt
'and safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect from
i
and after its passage and approval.
