AN ORDINANCE FILING THE SALARY SCHEDULE OF ALL OF THE EMPLOYES OF THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT ;, REPEAL- ING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS SECTION 1.. In order to better promote eff eiency in the Police and Detective Departments of the City of Little Rock, it is reby ordained that all employes,of the Little Rock Police artment and Detective Departments shall be graded by the length of service that such employes have served in the respective departments, and such dividions shall be as follows: (1) Employes who have served one (1) year or less shall known as "Probation Men". (2) Those who have served more than one (1) year and less than two (2) years shall be known as. "Two year Men." (3) Those who have served more than two (2} years and lese than three (3) years shall be known as "Three-year Men.rr SECTION 2.. Salary schedules for the - classif leation herein above set out shall be not to exceed the respective amounts as follows« (1) Probation Men ( 2 ) Tw_o- year Men (3) Three-year Men (4) Those who have served more than three (3) years shall receive not to exceed 178.3.0 Per Month 195.80 199.10 $212.50 " it SECTION 3. The salary schedules herein provided shall be leffective as of January 1, 193.9,. and continue in full force and jeffect only up to and including the 31st day of January, 1939. SECTION 4. It is hereby ordained that the Police and vi ttetivv Department& shall have the following off ieerw of the respective yepartments Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police,. Chief of Detectives, Captain of Police, Superintendant of Bureau of Identification, Lieutenant of Police, Sergeant of Police, Detectives, Secretary to Chief of Police, Record Clerk in Chief of Deteet.ivers Office, Cook, Radio Chief Operator and Operator. SECTION 5. The officers provided for in Section 4 herein. Ishall receive not to exceed the following respective salaries OF 2 - which shall be effective as of January 1, 1939, and continue in full force and effect only up to and including January 31, 1939s and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed t issue the City's warrant or warrants for the differences in amounts of salaries herein for the month of January, 1939 not already heretofore paid said employes: Chief of Police Plus car expense Asst. Chief of Police Chief of Detectives Captain of Police Supt. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 7. From and after-February 1, 1939, the salary schedule as set out in Section 2 hereof, shall be as follows: �1) Probation Men $107.00 Per Month 2) Two -Year Men 117.50 Per Month (3 ) Three -Year Aden 119.50 Per Month ( ) Those who have served more than three (3) years shall receive 127. 0 Per Month not to exceed 5 SECTION S. Whereas, it is necessary in order to prepare the budget for the City of Little Rock for the ensuing fiscal year, that this Ordinance become effective immediately, an emergency is, therefore, hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate preserva- tion of the public peace, health and safety, and same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
