AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING STREET
IMPROVEMErTT DISTRICT NO. 523 OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SAS, parties elaiming, to. be the- oVA ,NrQ thi
in assessed value of the property located within the territory
hereinafter described have filed a petition praying that an improve-
ment district be established for the purpose hereinafter set out;
and
AREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City
Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, has heard all parties
desiring to be heard, and has ascertained that said petition was
signed by two- thirds in assessed value of the owners of real
property within said territory; and
WHEREAS, the City Council expressed its finding in
Ordinance No. 5667, duly passed and approved on the 19th day = °e;
December, 1938, but through oversight said ordinance was not
published within thirty days after its adoption as required by
statute; and
WHEREAS, due notice as required by law has been given
of a new hearing upon said petition, said notice having been
published once a week for two weeks and the last insertion being
not less than seven days before this date, which is the date fixed
for the hearing, as shown by the proof of publication now on file
In the office of the City Clerk; and
the City Council has heard all per#on&
desire to be heard on the question and has again ascertained that
said petition was signed by more than two - thirds in assessed value
of the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter

described;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. There is hereby established an improvement
district embracing the following property:
Lots 13 to 24, inclusi a, -o
Lots 1 1t@' �.z, -` 1A 4t e, of 816 k ;
Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, of Block 7; and
Lots 13 to 24, inclusive, of Block 8;
All in Altheimer's Addition to the City of
Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas;
for the purpose of grading, draining, curbing, guttering and paving,
in such a manner and with such materials as the commissioners to
be elected for the said improvement district shall deem to be for
the best interest of said district, the following part of the
following street in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to wit:
Garfield Street from its intersection with the
south line of Altheimer Addition to the City of
Little Rock to its intersection with the north
line of the same addition;
and that the cost thereof, over and above any aid received fr_.Qm
any agency of the federal or city government, be assessed and
charged upon the real property above described.
Said district shall be known as Street Improvement
District No. 523; and B. R. Burrow, C. E. Formby and C. Deckard
are hereby named commissioners, who shall compose the Board of
Improvement for said district.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage.
