AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE
BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Board of Public Af-
fairs are hereby authorized to advertise for and receive
bids for the purchase of the following equipment:
1. Motorcycle tires and tubes to place five motor-
cycles of the Police Department in use.
2. Tires and tubes for garbage and street trucks.
3. The purchase or rental of four automobiles to
be used as squad cars for the Police Department.
4. One small tractor suitable for use in pulling
mowers for the City Parks.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and the Board of Public
Affairs are authorized to purchase said equipment from
the lowest and most responsible bidder and the Mayor
and City Clerk are authorized to issue the Cityts war-
rant, or warrants, in payment therefor.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS; said equipment is necessary
for immediate use in order to aid the departments In-
volved in providing service for the citizens of Little
Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate
eservation of public peace, health, and safety and
the same shall be in full force from and after its pas-
sage and approval.
