oRDINANcN # 5746.
AN ORDINANCE CREATING CERTAIN ADDITIONAL POSITIONS IN THE
DEPABTHBNT OF SANITATION; FIXING THE SALARIES THEREFOR AND
FOR OTHER PDRPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. There is hereby created the following additional
positions in the Department of Sanitation for the City of Little Rook
and said employees shall reoeive monthly salaries as set out here-
after;
r (1) One Superintendent at_#150.00.
J2) Seven (7) Truck Drivers at $103.00 per month, each.
(3) Sixteen (16) Helpers at $60.00 per month, each.
(4) Six (6) Premises Inspectors at $125.00 per month# each.
(5) Two (2) Combination Stenographer- Clerks at $75.00 per month, each*
(6) One Bookkeeper at $125.00 per month.
(7) One Cashier at $125.00 per month*
SECTION 2. Said employees shall not be placed on the City Payroll
until such time as the new garbage collection program becomes effective
and the UAyor of the City of Little Rook issues an order directing the
enplayment of paid employees. Said employess may be put to vork as the
Mayor of the City of Little Rock deems they are needed.
SECTION 3, The Mayor and the Sanitation Committee of the City
Council shall prescribe the duties of said employees.
SECTION 4. The salaries herein provided for shall be paid in
the sea* manner as other salaries are paid.
SECTION 5. WEEREAS, it is necessary to perfect plans immediately
for the new garbage program as a means of protecting the health of the
citizens of Little Rook, anc.'emergenoy is hereby found to exist and
this ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate preservation
of_th* public peace$ health and safety, end -the same shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
