AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE BUSINESS OF STAGING SHOWS
AND EXHIBITIONS IN THE CITY OF LITTLE AROCK TO BE A
PRIVILEGE; FIXING A PRIVILEGE TAX THEREFOR; PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PUR-
POSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. No person, firm, or corporation shall be
allowed to stage any show or exhibition in the City of Little
Rock without first receiving a license therefor from the City
Collector of the City of Little Rock where such show or ex --
hibition is staged by a person, firm, or corporation not paying
the regular annual privilege tax heretofore fixed for the re-
gular operation Of shows and theaters in the City of Little
Rock. The City Collector before issuing a license shall cols
lect the sum of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) per day for each
day that any such person, firm, or corporation operates any
show or exhibition.
SECTION 2. Any person, firm, or corporation operating
a show and /or exhibition without first having paid the licenser
fee and receiving the license shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction in the Little Rock Municipal Court
shall be fined in any sum not less than Twenty -five Dollars,
($25.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
SECTION 3. WHEREAS; it is necessary for the City of
Little Rock to equalize privilege tax schedules and such equa-
lization should be effective immediately in order to promote a
fair schedule of payments by all persons affected by the Ordi-
nance, therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval, and publication as provided by law.
