AN ORDINAN -E LEVYING A PRIVILEGE TAX ON ANY PERSON,
FIRM, OR CORPORATION OPERATING TAXI -CABS; FIXING A
PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PUR-
POSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. That from and after the passage, approval, and
publication of this Ordinance, any person, firm, or corporation
engaged in the operation of a taxi -cab business in the City of
Little Rock shall pay for the privilege of operating said busi-
ness the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, ($200.00) per year, and in
addition to this amount, the further sum of Fifty Dollars ($50)
per vehicle used in the operation of said business over one (1)
vehicle.
SECTION 2. Any person, firm, or corporation engaged in the
operation of said business shall submit semi - annually on forms
furnished by the City Collector, a full and complete statement
of the number of vehicles owned by said business. The City Col-
lector, or his Deputy, shall have the right to check, at any
reasonable time, the number of vehicles owned by any person, firm,
or corporation engaged in the operation of the taxi -cab business
and if said person, firm, or corporation has not paid for the pro-
per number of vehicles owned by the business, then the City Col-
lector shall have the right to collect the difference and if such -
amount is not paid within Thirty (30) days after demand is made,
then such person, firm, or corporation shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Little Rock Municipal
Court shall be fined in any sum up to and including One -Half (2)
of the amount of the license due.
SECTION 3. Said license shall be due and payable on a
semi - annual basis, the same being due and payable on July 15 and
January 15 of each year.
SECTION 4. :`HEREAS; it is necessary for the City to equa-
lize its privilege tax Ordinances and in addition, to raise
revenue for the operation of the City so its Police, Fire, and
other necessary protections may be afforded the Citizens of

of the City of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public, peace, health and safety, and
the same shall be In full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval, and advertising as provided by law.
