HomeMy WebLinkAbout5778i ORDINANCE # g• W: RAN ORDINANCE TO MAKE AST SIXTH STREET FROM SCOTT TO HARRINGTON STREETS, INCLUSIVE, A BOULBYARD; TO PROVIDE FOR STOP SIGNS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ClnY OY LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS SECTION 1. From and after the passage and approval of this Ordinance, Bast Sixth Street from Scott to Harrington Streets, inclusive, shall be a boulevard. SECTION 2. All vehicles shall come to a complete stop before entering into Bast Sixth Street from Scott to Her- rington streets, inclusive. SECTION 3. The Street Department, or other proper authorities, its hereby directed to place stop signs at each street intersection of-ea-st-Sixth-Street. .SECTION 4. Any person failing to bring his vehicle to a complete stop before entering East Sixth street from Scott to Harrington streets, inclusive, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Little Rock Municipal Court shall be fined in any sum not less than One Dollar (1.00) nor more than Ten Dollars ($10.00). SECTION b. WHEREAS; this Ordinance is designed to promote safety upon the streets of the City of Little Rock; and since hazardous conditions exist due to the large amount of traffic on East Sixth street, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the la-1 mediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect from and after 1A passage and approval.
