QUARTER OF THE MALL OR CIRCLE ON THE MASTER MAP PREPARED BY JOHN
HIGHBERGER TO LITTLE ROCK RECREATION COMMISSION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCS:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are
hereby, authorized and directed to execute the necessary lease or
leases to Little Rock Recreation Commission, a nonprofit corpora-
tion, to the following described property, located in the State of
Arkansas, County of Pulaski, to -wits
A Plot of Ground in Fair Park, in the City of Little Rock,
'measuring 330 feet on the East side, 300 feet on the South
side, with an are on the North and West sides, the entire area
being bounded by three streets, and constituting the Northwest
Quarter of the Mall or Circle on the Master Map prepared by
John Highberger, Landscape Architect, under date of
The term of this lease shall be for the period of ten years
from the 8th day of August, 1939, and the rental payable shall be
$1.00 annually. The lessee shall have the right and privilege at
the expiration of the lease, of renewing the lease annually on_thi
same rental basis until it is able to certify to the lessor that all
bills, debts and expenses of every character in connection with the

construction of the swimming pool and properties ina -
dent thereto have been paid in full, at which time title to the swim-
ming pool and properties incident thereto shall revert to and become
the property of the lessor. The property leased shall be used for a
site for a swimming pool and activities incident thereto.

SECTION 2. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed. Since the present municipal swiming
i
pool will soon be demolished and the citizens of Little Rock are in
need of a swinmeing pool, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate pres-
ervation of the publics peace, health and safety, and the same shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
