AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #5476 OF THE ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; TO PROVIDE FOR AD-
DITIONAL PREMISES INSPECTORS; AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE
SALARIES OF ALL EMPLOYEES DURING A PROBATION OF SIX (6)
MONTHS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance #5476 is hereby
amended to rWad as follows: "There is hereby created the fol-
lowing additional positions in the Department of Sanitation of
the City of Little stock, and said employees shall receive
monthly salaries•as et out hereafter:
(1). One (1)A Superintendent at X150.00 per month.
(2). Seven (7) Truck Drivers at :90.00 per month for a
probation period of Six (6) months, which salary
shall be increased to 4`103.00 per month thereafter.
(3). Sixteen (16) Helpers at $50.00 per month each for
a probation period of Six (6) months, which salary
shall be "increased to $60.00 per month thereafter.
(4). Ten (10) Premises Inspectors at $100.00 per month
each for a probation period of Six (6) months
which salary shall be increased to X125.00
per month thereafter.
(5). free (S) Combination -Clerk Stenographers at Y75.00
per month each.
(6). One (1) Bookkeeper at X100.00 per month for a pro-
bation period of Six (6) months, which salary shall
be increased to $125.00 per month thereafter.
(7). One (1) Cashier at X100.00 per month for a proba-
tion period of Six (6) months, which salary shall
be increased to 4125.00 per month thereafter.
SECTION 2. WHEREAS; it is necessary to perfect plans
immediately for the new garbage program as a means of protectin
the health of the citizens of Little Rock, an emergency is here-
by found to exist and this Ordinance is found to be necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and
safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
