1939; =.ND FOR 0THER PURPOSES
BE IT 0R1)AINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
� EC`I'ION 1. The salary of each and every City
employee shall be reduced in the sum of Ten per cent (10 %)
for the months o' October, November, and December, 1939. The
Mayor, City Clerk, and City Treasurer are hereby authorized
and directed to carry out the provisions of this salary re-
duction. -3y the acceptance of the reduced salary for the
first period of October, each employee agrees to said reduc-
tion and :,aives any and all rights for increased compensation
as provided under former ordinances.
Said salary reduction shall be effective only
during the months of October, November, and December, 1939,
and thereater the salary schedules heretofore set up shall
again be effective.
SECTION 2, it is necessary for the City
to cut expenses so that the revenues for the year 1939 will
not be exceeded, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the
same shall be in full force and of =ect from and after its pas-
sage and approval.
