AMU FASSENGER LOADING AND UNLOAU)ING ZONES; AID FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CGUNCIL OF TIHE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, .-JRKttNSAS:
Section 1. That from and after the passage of this ordinance
Section 102 of Ordinance No. 3913 as -amended by Ordinance No. 4371
is hereby repealed.
Section 12. The -Police Department is herc,by authorized to
estdblisrx, wherever they deem it necessary, freight loading and
unloading zones. "luch zones will be reserved -for the purpose
of loading and unloading light freight and articles, which either
by weight or bulk, would be unsuitable to carry any great distance.
passenger cars that are used for commercial purposes will be
permitted to use these zones. i'llau truck and delivery wagons may
use thfise zones whare no alley exists* it shall be unlawful for
the driver of any vehicle to park in these zones except fo,,- the
purpose of loading or unloading freight and then no longer than
is absolutoly nee-assary for such purpose.
Seoti;z)n 3. Such freight loading and unloading zones shall
be depot -d by being painted a distinguishable color and shall be
clearly marked to indicate that they are to be used only for
the loading or unloading of freight. The length of such zones shall
be determined by the Police Department and only such space allowed
as is absolutoly necessary for the purpose of loading and unloading
freight or other articles as set forth in Section 2.
Section 4. The Police Department is .u'.so authorized to
establish, wherever they deem It nec,'ssary, passenger loading and
unloading zones. Such zones will be reserved for the convenience
of thy; public in the loading and unloading of passengers in or out
of motor vehicles, It .shall be unlawful for any driver of any
vehicle to park in these zones, except momentarily, to discharge
or pick up passengers.

Section 5. Such passenger loading and uploading Z.Ones shall

zones will be determined by the police Department and only such

Section 7. Any persons, firm or corpowation vidlating
the -orovi.'1!'Ions of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a
misdeseaaor and on conviction in the Little mock :municipal Court
shall be fined in any sum not less than 41.00 (one -Oollar), nor
more than X10.00 (Ten Doliars) .
Section 8. Whereas much confusion and congestion of traffic
has resulted by having an inadequate law covering the loading and
unloading of freir-rht and passengers on the streets of this city,
an emergencY is hereby delcar-d to exist and this ordinance is found
to be necessary for the immediatt preservation of the public
peace, health and sal'aty and the same :hall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and aD-rovul.
