HomeMy WebLinkAbout5828ORDINANCE NO.' 5829 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO STREET I14PROVEIVIENT DISTRICT NO. 527 TO TrE CITY OF LITTLE AGCK, ARXANSAS WHEREAS, parties claiming to: be the owners of a majority in value of real property in the territory hereinafter described which is contiguous to Street Improvement District No. 527 of the City of Little Rock, a duly organized and existing improvement district, have filed a petition desiring that said territory be annexed to said improvement district; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has published notice for two weeks in the Arkansas Democrat, a newspaper issued and having a general circulation in Pulaski County, calling upon the property owners to appear before this council at 8 :00 otclock P. M., I)ecember 11, 1939, and show cause for or against such annexation which action of the City Clerk is hereby approved and ratified; and WHEREAS, at the time and place set no one appeared to protest against the annexation of said territory to said street improvement district, and thereupon the City Council referred the petition,with the certificate of the abstract company, to the Improvement. District Committee of the City Council who examined said petition and have returned it with the recommendation that it do pass; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heard all persons who desire to be heard on said petition and has ascertained that said petition is signed by more than a majority in value of.the owners of real property within said territory, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: Section 1. That lots 1 to 8 inclusive of Block 6 of Heisemants Addition to Little Rock, and Lots 9 to 16 inclusive of Block 5 of Reyburn & Wrightts Addition to Little Rock, which is contiguous to Street Improvement District No. 527 of the City of Little Rock, be annexed to said improvement district for the purpose of grading, draining, curbing, guttering and paving the following part of the following street in the City of Little Moak, Arkansas, to -wit: Pine Street from its intersection with the center line of nest 7th Street to the north property line of Vest 8th Street with such materials and in such manner as the Commissioners of said Street Improvement District No. 527 shall deem to be for the best interests of the said territory hereby annexed to said district, and that the cost thereof, in excess of any aid received from any federal or other governmental agency, be assessed and charged upon the real property above described. Seotion,2. Said annexation shall be known as Annex No. 1 to Street Improvement District No. 527, and the Commissioners of Street Improvement District- No. 527 shall proceed to form plans for said annexation, ascertain the estimated cost thereof and make the assessment for said improvement on the territory hereby annexed on the same basis as if said territory were included in the original district. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and. be in force from and after its passage.
