AN ORDINANCE ANNEXINu A CERTAIN PORTION, HEREINAFTER DESCRIbED,
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO STREET IM-
PROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 531 OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value
of the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter
described, which property adjoins Street Improvement District
No. 531 of Little Rock, Arkansas, a duly created and existing
improvement district in said city, desire to be added to and
included in said improvement district and have filed a petition
with the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
praying that said territory be annexed to said improvement
district, have designated the nature of the improvement to be
undertaken and have described the territory to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk published a notice calling
upon the property owners within said territory to appear before
this council on April 22, 1940 and show cause for or against
such annexation; and,
WHEREAS, this council has heard all persons who desire
to be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said
petition constitute such a majority; THEREFURE,
13E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That this city council has ascertained that the
signers of the petition to annex the property hereinafter described

to Street Improvement District No. 531 of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, do constitute a majority in value of the owners of real
property within the territory sought to be annexed; that said peti-
tion for the annexation of said territory is in due form and proper-
ly signed by a majority of the owners of real property as required
ls.'w• .
Section 2. That all that real property described as
follows i4nd situated in the City of Little hock,Pulaski County,Arkansas;
Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 140 Niemeyer ' s Addition to the
City of Little Rock,Arkansas;
Lots 7 to 12, inclusive, Block 11, Wayman' s Addition to the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
which property is embraced within the following description;
Beginning at a point 140 feet East of the Northwest
corner of Block 14, Niemeyer +s Addition to the City of
Little hock,Arkansas, thence South 300 feet to a point 140
feet East of the Southwest corner of Block 14 of said Nie-
meyerts Addition, thence West approximately 330 feet to a point
140 feet West of the Southeast corner of Block 110 Wayman's
a Addition to the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, thence North
300 feet to a point 140 feet West of the Northeast edVnsr of
Block 11 of said Waymants Addition, thence East approximately
330 feet to the point of beginning,
be and the same is, hereby added to and annexed to Improvement Dis-
trict No. 531 of Little Rock, Arkansas., and the commissioners of said
district shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned for by
grading, draining, curbing, guttering and paving, in such manner and
with such materials as the commissioners of said district shall deter-
mine to be for the best interest of the territory hereby petitioned
to be annexed, subject to the approval of the city attorney and the
city engineer of the City of Little Rock,Arkansas.
Section 3. That said territory hereby annexed shall be

Section 4. That the commissioners shall make the a=*"i
ment of benefits for said improvements on the lots, blocks or parcels
of real property in the territory herein annexed on the same basis as

if said territory were included in the original district, and shall
file said assessments with the city clerk.
