AN ORDINANCE CREATING A TRAFFIC COMMISSION FOR
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE 'ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby treated an official traffic
commission for the City of Little Rock, to consist of not less
than 15 nor more than 40 members, who shall be nominated by the
Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The members of said
traffic commission shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor
and the Council and shall be entitled to no compensation or
remuneration for their services. In case of a vacancy upon
said commission, other members of said commission may be
selected from time to time in the manner hereinbefore provided.
SECTION 2. The said traffic commission shall advise
the City Council, the Mayor and the department heads and other
officials of the City of Little Rock of the best methods for
the administration of street traffic regulations, and of the
improvements and changes, both legislative and administrative,
designed to reduce street traffic accidents and to relieve traffic
congestion. In addition thereto, said traffic commission will
report or make recommendAtions to the City Council and the Mayor
upon any measure or proposition that may be presented to such
traffic commission by the city officials relating to the subject
matter within the jurisdiction of said traffic commission.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in

conflict herewith/ repealed and this ordinance shall take effect
from and after its passage and approval.
