Whereas, Initiated Ordinance No. 5876 -A, passed by
the people of the City of Little Rock, approved at the General
Election held Tuesday, April 2, 1940, established a privilege
tax for certain "professional men" at $10.00 per year; and
Whereas, many persons affected thereby have paid
privilege taxes in accordance with terms of t previous regula-
tions and are thereby entitled to refunds thereunder; Now,
Therefore,
BE IT O 4DAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T Hr: CITY OF LITTLE
RUCK, AR"i6A6:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of
41,705.00 from the General Fund of the City of Little Rock for
the purpose of refunding to each person affected by the terms
of Initiated Ordinance No. 5876 -A the amount of privilege tax
paid by said person for the year 1940 in excess of $10.00.
ECTION 2. The kayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to draw warrants against the General
Fund of the City payable to those entitled to refunds as herein
outlined upon certification by the City Collector to the City
Clerk of a list of persons entitled to said refunds.
SECTION j. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
