ORDINANCE NO. 5976
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $812.50 OUT OF THE PROCEEDS
OF THE AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION FUND FOR THE PAYMENT OF CERTAIN CROP
DAMAGE NECESSARY IN THE ADDITION TO THE LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL
AIRPORT; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO PAY SAID AMOUNT;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has purchased
Is certain lands in order to increase the physical area of its muni-
cipal airport, and, WHEREAS, said lands so purchased contain grow-
ing crops thereon, which crops were retained by the owners of the
land, and, WHEREAS, in order to enlarge the physical area-of the
Municipal Airport, it is necessary to recompense the owners of
said crops for damages thereto in order that said lands may be
used immediately for airport purposes, NOW, THEREFORE, the sum of
$812.50 is hereby appropriated out of the Airport Construction Fund
to be used for the purpose of recompensin.g the crop owners for dam-
ages to the crops located on the following described real property:
Part of Eaet One -half (E1) Southwest Quarter (SW4),
Section Seven (7), Township One North (Twp..l N)-, Range
Eleven West (R 11 W), Pulaski County, more particularly
described as follows: Begin on the South line of said
Section Seven (7) at a point 704.57 feet West of the
Southeast corner of said Southwest Quarter (SW-,'W), thence
West 535.43 feet; thence North 2640 feet; to the North
line of said Southwest Quarter (SW,l), thence East 535.43
feet to a point which is 704.57 feet West of the North-
east corner of said Southwest Quarter (SW4); thence
South 2640 feet to the point of beginning, containing
32.45 acres, more or less.
Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into appropriate contracts with the owners of said lands
and to pay to said owners not more than $812.50 for the purchase
of crops now located on the above described lands.
Section 3. Whereas, immediate enlargement of the Little
Rook Municipal Airport and purchase of the crops on the above
described real property is vital to the welfare, safety and well-
being of the citizens of Little Rook, an emergency is hereby de-
clared to exist and this ordirm nce.is found to be neoessary for
the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
