AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF PFOPERTY FOR
CITY PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1940 FOR THE GENERAL FUND; FOUR AND
ONE -HALF PER CENT BOND AND INTEREST FUND; AIRPORT, FIRE EQUIPMENT
AND HOSPITAL ANNEX BOND AND INTEREST FUND; MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM
BOND FUND; LIBRARY ANNEX BOND FUND, A14D NEGRO PARK BOND FUND; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY
ARKANSAS:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
SECTION 1. That the rate of taxation on real and personal
property in the City of Little Rock for certain City purposes for
the year 1940, be and the same is hereby fixed and established and
levied as follows:
For General purposes in order to carry on the affairs of
the City Government under Section 4, Article 12, of the
Constitution of 1874, there is hereby levied a tax of Five
(5) mills.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Funding Bond issue
of May let, 1925, and refunding issue of November 1st, 1935,
and refunding issue of November let, 1938, a tax of three
(3) mills for the year 1940 is hereby levied; and Ordinance
No. 3799 is hereby amended only insofar as to apply to levy
for the year lg40.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Airport, Fire Equip-
ment and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November let, 1929, a.
tax of Twenty -five Hundredths (.25) of a- mill for the ' year
1940 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Roc% as may be required in the Iunicipal Auditorium
Bond issue of February lst, 1937, a tax of Thirty Hundredths
(.30) of a mill for the year 1940 is hereby levied; and
Ordinance No. 5509 is hereby amended only insofar as to
apply to levy for the year 1940.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Library Annex Bond
issue of February let, 19 7, a tax of Ten Hundredths (.10)
of a mill for the year 190 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Negro Park Bond issue
of February let, 1937, a tax of Five Hundredths (-05) of a
mill for the year 1940 is hereby levied.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski
County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended on
the Tax Books of Pulaski County and collected annually along with
the other taxes for the year 1940.

SECTION 3. Action under the terms of this ordinance is
