AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A CERTAIN PORTION, HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED,
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO STREET IM-
PROV®dENT DISTRICT NO. 531 OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value of
the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter de-
scribed, which property adjoins Street Improvement District loo.
531 of Little Rock, Arkansas, a duly created and existing improve -
ment district in said city, desire to be added to and included in
said improvement district and have filed a petition with the= City
Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, praying that said
territory be annexed to said improvement district, have designated
the nature of the improvement to be undertaken and have described
the territory to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, the city council has directed the city clerk to
publish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having a bona
fide general circulation in Pulaski County, a notice calling upon
the property owners within said territory to appear before this
council on this day and show cause for or against such annexation;
and,
WHEREAS, such notice has been duly published and this is
the time for the hearing to determine whether those signing said
petition constitute the majority in value of the owners of real prop-
erty in said territory; and,
WHEREAS,. this council has heard all persons who ',d*
be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said petition
constitute such a majority; THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That this city council has ascertained that the
signers of the petition to annex the property hereinafter described

to Street Improvement District No. 531 of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, do constitute a majority in value of the owners of real
property within the territory sought to be annexed; that said peti-
tion for the annexation of said territory is in due form and proper -
ly signed by a majority of the owners of real property as required
by law.
Section 2. That all that real property described as
follows, and situated ih the City of Little Rock,pulaski County,Arkansas;
Lots 9 to 16, inclusive,. Block 16, Braddock's Addition
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
Lots 8 to 11, inclusive, Block 17, Braddock's Addition
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
Lots 1 to 5, inclusive, RM —pots 14 to 18, inclusive,
Block 9, and lots l to 51 inclusive Block 16, all in
Niemeyer's addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
which property is embraced within the following description:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of lot 9, Block 16,
Braddock's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
thence South to the Southwest corner of said lot 9,
Black 16, Braddock's Addition; thence Southwesterly to
the Northwest corner of lot 1, Block 9, Niemeyer's
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; thence
South to the Southwest corner of lot 5, Block 9, of said
Niemeyer's Addition; thence West to the Southwest
corner of lot 14, Block 16, of said Niemeyer's Addition;
thence North along the East line of the alley which runs
North and South through Block 16 of said Niemeyer's
Addition, across West 20th Street to the South line of
lot 11, Block 17 of said Niemeyer's Addition; thence
West to the Southeast corner of said lot 11,. Block 17
of said Niemeyer's Addition; thence North to the North-
east corner of said lot 11, Block 17 of said Niemeyer's
Addition; thence West to the point of beginning,
be . and the same is., hereby added to and annexed to Improvement Dis-
trict No. 531 of Little Rock, Arkansas, and the commissioners of..said.
district shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned for by
grading, draining, curbing, guttering and paving, in such manner and
with such materials as the commissioners of said district shall deter-
mine to be for the best interest of the territory hereby petitioned
to be annexed, subject to the approval of the city attorney and the
city engineer of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Section 3. That said territory hereby annexed shall be
known as Annex #3 to Street Improvement District No. 531 of Little
Rock, Arkansas.
Section 4. That the commissioners shall make the assess -
ment of benefits for said improvements on the lots, blocks or parcels
of real property in the territory herein annexed on the same basis as
if said territory were included in the original district, and shall
file said assessments with the city clerk.
Section 5. That all ordinances or parts
conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ord:
effect and be in force from and after its passage,
is hereby ordered within 20 days after the passage
to publish the same in some newspaper published in
Rock for one insertion.
