ORDINANCE NO. 6O5g.
AN ORDINANCE ADDING TO THE PERSONNEL OF THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTNBM :
PROVIDING SALARIES FOR THE POSITIONS SO CREATED: AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Police Department of the City of-Little Rock is
hereby authorized to increase its personnel. in the amount of four additional
policemen to be chosen in the manner provided by law.
Section 2. The additional policemen authorized to be employed
under Section 1. of this ordinance shall be known as probationary policemen

they are promoted into a different classification.
Section 3. Each of the probationary policemen authorized by
this ordinance shall receive the salary authorized in Ordinance #5987.
Section 4. The employmentand salaries authorized under this
act shall become effective December 1, 1940. 0
Section 5. WHEREAS, it is important to the citizens of the
City of Little Rock to have and maintain an adequate force in-the Police
Department and said Police Department is vital to the citizens of the City
of Little Rock for the proper police protection, an emergency is hereby
found to exist and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
