ORDINANCE NO. 11103.
AN ORDINANCE ADDING TO THE PERSONNEL OF THE LITTLE ROCK
POLICE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING SALARIES FOR THE POSITIONS
SO CREATED; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Police Department of the City of Little
Rook is hereby authorized to increase its personnel in thi
amount of three additional policemen to be chosen in the
manner provided-by law.
Section 2. The additional polioementauthorized to be
employed under Section 1 of this ordinance shall be known
as apprentice policemen during the first year of their
employment by the Police Department and until they are pro-
moted into a different classifications
Section 3. Each of the apprentice policemen authorised
by this ordinance shall receive a salary of Ninety -five and
no/100 Dollars ($95.00) per moot# during the first twelve

Section 4. At the end of the first twelve moni*0 of
their employment, the three apprentice policemen authorized
by this ordinance shall become second year men, and shall
receive the monthly salary now or hereafter provided for other
second year men in the Police Department.
Section 5. The employment and salaries authorised under
this act shall become effective on and after February 10 1941.
Section 6. WHEREAS, it is important to the citizens of
the City of Little Rook to have and maintain on adequate foree
in the Police Department and said Police Department is vital
to the citizens of the City of Little Rook for the proper police
protection, an emergency is hereby found to exist and this
ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate peeser-
nation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same
