BE IT ORDAINED B- TIE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLr, ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The salaries of the employees of the Little effective April 1, 1941 Roth Fire Department faro hereby fixed in accordance with the following schedule, toy -l:it: Chief 4250.00 1st Assistant Chief 212.50 2nd Assistant Chief 190.00 3rd Assistant Chief & Inspector 175.00 Lie cha n i c 16 5.00 Asst. Iglechanic 140.00 Secretary with rank & salary of Senior Captain 152.50 All operators 137.50 All drivers 137.5O Senior captains 152.50 Junior captains 142.50 All first year firemen employed prior to May 1, 1940 112 *00 All first year firemen employed after Islay 10 1940 95.00 All second year firemen 122.50 All third year firemen 124.50 All fourth year firemen 132.50 Section 2. DEFINITION OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTME TT. Ytr the purpose of this ordinance, the following terms used in describing alad fixing salaries in the Fire Department are defined as folloVis: (a) First year firemen employed prior to May 1, 1940, refers to erployees who have served one year or less and who were employed prior to May 1, 1940. v (b) First year firemen employed after Maur 1, 1940, refers to employees who have served one year or less and who were employed subsequent to 'Jay 1, 1940. (c) Second year firemen refers to employees who have served more than one year and less than two years. (d) Third year firemen refers to employees who have served more than two years and less than three years. (e) Fourth Se ar firemen refers to employees who have served more than three years. Section 3. Whereas, it is necessary in order to provide adequately for the health, peace and wellbeing of the citizens of Little Rock that the salary schedules set out in this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest possible time, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance is found to `)a necessary for the immediate preservation of the -public peace, health and safe- ty' and the same shall be in full force and effect in all of its terms from and after its passage, and all ordinances in conflict h.erewith� -ar. e hereb;r repealed.
