ORDINANCE No. 6135.
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING STREET IMPROVMMT
DISTRICT NO. 555 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:'
WHEREAS, parties claiming to be the owners of more
than two - thirds in assessed value of the property located
within the territory hereinafter described have filed a peti-
tion praying that an improvement district be established for
the purpose hereinafter set out; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the
City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, has heard
all parties desiring to be heard, and has ascertained that
said petition was signed by more than two - thirds in assessed
value of the owners of real property within said territory;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. There is hereby established an improve-
ment district embracing the following described property:
Lots 4 to 12 inc. of block S. lots 1, 29 39
S, 9, and 10 of block 9, lots 1, 2, 3, S, 9,
10, of block 10, lots 1 to 12 inc. of block
11, lots 4 to 9 inc. of block 12, lots 1 to
9 inc. of block 15, and lots 1, 2, 3, S, 99
and 10 of block 16, all in Sidney Johnson's
addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
for the purpose of grading, draining, curbing, guttering, and
paving, in such a manner and with such materials as the com-
missioners to be elect4d for the said improvement district
shall deem to be for the best interest of said district, the
following part of the following street in the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, to -wit:
From the intersection of 14th street and Pey-
ton, South to the intersection of 17th street
and Peyton; also from the intersection of 15th
street and Peyton to the intersection of 15th
street and Abagail to the intersection of 16th
street and Abagail and from the intersection
of 16th street and Abagail to the intersection
of 16th street and Peyton, comprising six city
blocks of improvement,
and that the cost thereof, over and above any aid received
from any agency of the Federal or City government, be assessed

and charged upon the real property above described, provided
the liability of each lot or tract of land shall be limited
to its assessed benefits.
Said district shall be known as Street Improvement
District No. 555 and L. 46 Carlson ,
G. C. Evans I , and Ben Hopkins
are hereby named Commissioners, who shall compose the Board
of Improvement for said District.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage.
