AN ORDINANCE ASSE SING THE VALUE OF BENEFITS
TO BE RECEIVED BY THE OWNERS OF EACH OF THE
SEVERAL BLOCKS# LOTS AND PARCELS OF LAND
WITHIN STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 558,
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, more.,: than two -girds in value of the „ „prctpr,r
holders owning property adjoining the locality to be affected
and situated in Street Improvement District No. 558, in the
city of Little Rock, Arkansas, organized for the purpose of
grading, draining, curbing, guttering, paving and otherwise
improving the following described street, to -wit:
West Twenty -third Street in the City of.
Little Rock, Arkansas, from the West boundary
of Maple Street to the East boundary of Peyton
Street, including all intersections except Pine
Street, Cedar Street, and that portion of Lewis
Street occupied by the Capitol Transportation
Company;
have petitioned the City Council of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, for the construction of said improvements and that the
cost thereof shall be assessed upon the real property in said
district according to the benefits received; and
WHEREAS, said benefits received by each and every block,
lot, and parcel of real property, railroad and railroad right -of-
way situated in said district equals of exceeds the local assess-
ment thereon; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said improvement is
.- .,..4Q, exclusive of interest, and the assessed benefits
amount to $20,940.12; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY

COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the several blocks, lots, and parcels
of real property, railroads, and railroad right- of- ways-in said
Street Improvement District No. 558 of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, be and they are hereby assessed according to the

assessment list as the same now remains in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; and as the same
may be annually readjusted by the Board of Assessors, and that
8% of said assessment of the value of benefits to each of said
blocks, lots and parcels of land, railroad, and railroad right-
of-way shall be raid on or before the 15th day of July, 1941, in
each of the years 1941 to 1952, inclusive, until the whole of
said assessment shall have been paid, or so much thereof as may
be required to -gay the debts of said district.
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereb7- repealed, and thin ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its :passage.
