An ordinance establishing Street Improvement District
Number 556 in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
'Whereas, parties claiming to be the owners of two- thirds
in assessed value of the property located within the territory
or described, have filed _a petit ion:ap. .g thet,r an, im
provement- district be established for the purpose hereinafter
set out; and,
YWhottas, after due notice As required by law, the City
Council of the City of Little Rook has heard all parties desiring
to be heard, and has ascertained -that said petition was signed by
two - thirds in assessed value of the owners of real property with-
in said territory;
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. There is.hereby established an improvement
Aisftlat embracing the following property:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 3, Block 5,
Jansen Addition, said corner being on the west property line
of Lewis Street; thence-West 265 feet; thence North 2 feet;
thence -Nest 100 feet to a point which is 5 feet South of the
Southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 8, Riffel -& Rhoton Addition;
thence North 5 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 1,
Block 8, Riffel & Rhoton Addition, which is on the north line
of the alley in Block 8; thence 'West along said north line of
alley in Blocks 8 and 7, Riffel & Rhoton Addition, and along
_hewn all line `01' Blaek 32, Cunningham Audition, to the Y_
Southwest corner of Lot 4, in said Block 32, being a point on
the east property line of -Washington Street; thence Nest 25
feet to the center-of Washington Street; thence North along
the center of Washington Street to a paint 25 feet West of
the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 17, Cunningham Addition;
thence East to the Northwest corner of said Lot 1, Block 17,
Cunningham Addition; thence -East along the south boundary

of Lot 12 of said Block 5, Riffel & Rhoton Addition; thence
South 1 foot along the east line of said Lot 12, Block 5,
Riffel & Rhoton Addition to the Northwest corner of Lot 6,
Block 11, Jansen Addition._; thence Bast along the north line

across Abigail Street to the Northwest corner of Lot 9, Block
69 of said Jansen Addition, and thence Bast along the north
line of Lots 9 and 4 of said Block 6 to the Northeast corner
of Lot 4, said Block 6, to a point on the west property line
of Lewis Street; thence continuing Bast 30 feet to the cen-
ter of Lewis Street; thence South along the center of Lewis
Street to a point 30 feet Bast of the Southeast corner of
Lot 3, Block 5, Jansen Addition; and thence 'Nest 30 feet to
the place of beginning,
for the purpose of grading, curbing, guttering and paving West
Eleventh Street from the center of Lewis Street to the center of
Washington Street.
Said district shall be known as Street Improvement District
Dumber 556 , and M. M. Beckett, T. Z. Sumlin and Logan B. Young
are hereby named Comissioners, who shall compose the Board of
Improvement for said District.
Section 2. It is found that Ordinance Number 6151, passed
Parch 31, 1941, Gras intended to create an improvement district to
improve the same streets described herein, but the description of
the boundaries of said territory affected in the petition and
ordinance were incorrect and indefinite, which renders said ordi-
nance void, therefore, said Ordinance Number 6151 is hereby re-
pealed, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in forme from
and after its passage.
