HomeMy WebLinkAbout20691I ORDINANCE NO. 20,691 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF 4 COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER 5 TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE 6 HUNDRED ONE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY AND 81/100 7 DOLLARS ($501,420.81), INCLUDING APPLICABLE TAXES AND 8 SHIPPING, WITH CRIME POINT, INC., AS THE SOLE - SOURCE 9 PROVIDER FOR THE PURCHASE OF CITYWIDE SURVEILLANCE 10 CAMERA SYSTEM FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; 11 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 12 13 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department requests approval for the purchase of surveillance 14 camera equipment to be integrated into the Citywide network monitoring system; and, 15 WHEREAS, Crime Point, Inc., is the sole supplier of surveillance camera equipment that meets the 16 rigorous specifications which are compatible with the Police Department's current state -of -the -art 17 monitoring system, and, 18 WHEREAS, competitive bidding should be waived and the contract awarded to Crime Point, Inc., as 19 the sole - source provider for the purchase of surveillance camera equipment for Citywide deployment in 20 the estimated amount of Five Hundred One Thousand, Four Hundred Twenty and 81/100 Dollars 21 (501,420.81), with tax and shipping included; 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to dispense with competitive 25 bidding and enter into a contract in the amount of Five Hundred One Thousand, Four Hundred Twenty 26 and 81/100 Dollars (501,420.81), with tax and shipping included, with Crime Point, Inc., as the sole - 27 source provider for the purchase of surveillance camera equipment for the Little Rock Police Department. 28 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available from the Police Camera Special Project Fund. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 ordinance.
