ORDINANCE NO. 6301.
AN ORDINANCE TO FIX THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN CERTAIN
DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; TO ELIMINATE
PAYMENTS OF SALARIES FOR OVERTIME WORK; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The monthly salaries of certain of the employees of the City
oftittle Rook, Arkansas in the various departments as herein r4aited are
hereby fixed and established in accordance with the following schedule, to -wit:
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT
Secretary to Mayor

Requisition Clerk to Purchasing Agent

j Section 2. Thepayment of salaries for overtime work as now paid by
�de a�_I_ja�tai.n employees is hereby abolished. A working week shall
be 48 hours. ��
Section 3. Employes of the City are hereby required, in emergencies,
to.00ntinue in their respe ive duties during such overtime as may be required
by the head of his department without additional pay therefor.
Section 4. The payment of salaries for the positions herein recited
is made retroactive to September 1st, 1941.
Section 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in so far as the same

conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 6. WHEREAS, salaries of amn� of the employees of the City of
Little Rock are not sufficient to enable said employees to maintain a proper
standard of living, and, whereas, the efficiency of all employees of the City
is vital to the interest and welfare of the citizens of Little Rock, and it
being deemed that the operation of this ordinance is necessary to maintain
the efficiency of employees of the City, and that this ordinance be immediately
effective for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage and approval.
