HomeMy WebLinkAbout6302ORDINANCE NO. 6302 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE PATE OF TAXATION OF PROPERTY FOR CITY PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1941 FOR VARIOUS FUNDS OF TIE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AW SAB : SECTION 1. That the rate of -taxation on real and personal property in the City of Little Rock for certain City purposes for the year 1941, be and the same is hereby fixed and established and levied as follows: For General purposes in order to carry on the affairs of the City Government under Section 4, Article 12, of the Constitution of 1974, there is hereby levied a tax of Five (5) mills. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rook as may be required In the Funding Bond issue of May let, 1925, and refunding issue of November lot, 1935, and refunding issue of November let, 1938, a tax of three (3) mills for the year 1941 is hereby levied; and Ordinance No. 3789 is hereby amended only insofar as to apply to levy for the year 1941. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rock as may be rewired in the Airport, Fire Equip- ment and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November let, 1929s a tax of Twenty -five Hundredths (.25) of a mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of.the City of Little Rock as may be rewired in the Municipal Auditorium Bond Issue of February is t , 1937s a tax of Thirty Hundredths (.30) of a mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied; and Ordinance No. 5509 is hereby amended only insofar as to apply to levy for the year 1941. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of i Little Rock as may be rewired in the Library Annex Bond issue of February let, 19 7, a tax of Ten Hundredths (.10) of a mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rock as may be re;uired in the Airport Construction Bond Issue of May is t , 1940, a tax of Seventy Hundredths (.70) of W mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. ,p - % For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rock as may be required in the Auttltorlum Equipment Bond Issue of May is t, 1940, a tax of Thirty Hundredths G30) of a mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rock as may be required in the Airport Construction Bond (Second) issue of October let, 19400 a tax of Four - tenths (.4) of a mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rock as may be required in the Fair Park Improvement Bond issue of October lots 1940, a tax of One -tenth (.1) of a mill for the year 19kVis hereby levied. i For the purpose of paying Firemen's Pen signs ,in accordance with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November 5, 1940, and Act 14 of the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas for the year 1941s a tax of One -half ( *) mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. For the purpose of paying Policemen's Pensions,, in accordance with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November 5, 1940., and Act 16 of the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas for the year 1941, a tax of One (1) mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. For the purpose of mointaining the City Library, in accordance with the prbvi sion s of an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November 5, 1940, a tax of One (1) mill for the year 1941 is hereby levied. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended on the tax books of Pulaski County and collected with the other taxes for the year 1941. SECTION 3. Action unddr the tome of this ordinance is immediately necessary if the public health program, policy and protection be Pot seriously curtailed, and as such curtailment would result in endangering the health, lives and property of the citizens of Little Rock, therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
