AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE ROUTE THROUGH THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCS TO BE USED BY CERTAIN TRUCES 'TRAN$PORTING
FREIGHT ON HIGHWAY 70; FIXING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS
THEREOF; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.

Section 1. From and after the passage of this ordin-
&nee, all freight or other commodities transported through
Little Rock on U. S. Highway 70 by truck shall use the
following route: When approaching Little Rook from the
north, said trucks shall proceed South on Broadway to
Ninth Street; thence Weston West Ninth Street to Pulaski
Street; thence South on Pulaski Street to Wright Avenue;
thence West on Wright Avenue to Highway 70.
When approaching Little Rock from the South, said
trucks shall proceed East on Wright Avenue to Pulaski
Street; North on Pulaski Street to West Ninth Street;
East on West Ninth Street to Broadway; North on Broadway
on U. S. highway 70 to the Broadway Bridge.
Section 2. In the event that any shipment by truck
over Highway 70 originates outside the City of Little
Rock and is destined for a point within the City of Little
Rock, the route described in Section 1 of this ordinance
shall be followed until the point on it nearest the point
of destination is reached when said route may be abandoned.
Section 3. In the .event that any shipment by truck
over Highway 70 originates within the City of Little Rock
and is destined for a point outside the City of Little Rook,
said shipment shall enter upon the route described in
Section 1 of this ordinance at the point nearest the
place of origin of said shipment, and said route shall be
followed thence forth.
Section 4. "Truck" is defined to be any vehicle or
common parri4k for -hire propelled by an oil or gasoline
engine, and designed to carry a load of one thousand
pounds or more exclusive of the empty weight of the vehicle.
Section 5. Any person, firm, or corporation who
drives or operates a truck in violation of:the terms of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
in the Municipal Court shall'pay a fine of not less than
Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars
($100.00).
Section 6. WHEREAS, the proper regulation of traffic
upon the streets of the City of Little Rock is a matter of
great consequence to the entire citizenry of Little Rock,
NOW THEREFORE, an emergency is declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval.
