DOLLARS FORTY FIVE CENTS ($30,204.45) OUT OF THE GENERAL FUNDS OF
TFE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK IN PA.YMI —,,NTT OF THE FLOATING DE'3T OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, through careful financial administration the floating
debt of the City of Little Rock has been reduced to Thirty Thousand
Two Hundred Four Dollars and Forty Five Cents 030,204.45), and
WHEREAS, through economies and careful management the City
of Little Rock is noar in a position to pay this floating debt, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is anxious to cooperate to
its maximum extent in the national defense program, NOfd THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C.OU�dCIL OF LITTLE ROCK'., ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The sum of Thirty Thousand Two Hundred Four Dollars
and Forty Five Cents ($30,204.45) is hereby appropriated out of the
general funds of the City of Little Rock to be used in payment of
the balance of the floating debt now owed by the City of Little
Rock, and the 1'.ayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to issue any -varrant or warrants or to take any further
steps that may be necessary to pay said amount to the person or
persons to whoa, said amount is owed.
Section 2• The holder or holders of any warrant or warrants
now or hereafter issued in payment of the said floating debt are
hereby authorized and instructed to present said warrant for payment
at the earliest convenient date.
Section 3. The person or persons who receive any payments under
the terns of Section 1 of this ordinance are hereby requested to
utilize as much of said payment as is practicable in purchase of
United States Defense Bonds.
Section 4. Prompt payment of financial obligations being
essential to the orderly conduct of City finances and the maintenance
of the City's credit, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and
this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health and safety, shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and al.,proval.
