AN ORDINANCE APtROPP.IATING FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS (5,000.00) OUT
OF THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO BE EXPENDED
IN THE PURCHASE OF A CERTAIN TRACT OF LA;�TD IN LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
AUTHORIZING THE ''.'AYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO OFFFR TO CONVEY SAID
LAND TO THE UNITED STATES OF AYTERICA FOR THE ERECTION OF A PUBLIC
HEALTH CENTER THEREON, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO LXIST, AND POR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) has been
donated to the City.of Little Rock for the purchase of lands herein
after described to be used as the site for the erection of a public
health center thereon, and
WFEREAS, the City of Little Rock needs a public health center
for the efficient conduct of the City's business, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: ,
Section 1. The sum of Five Thousand Dollars (:5,000.00) is
hereby appropriated out of the general funds of the City of Little
Rock for the purpose of purchasing certain real property hereinafter
described located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Section 2. The sum of,Five Thousand Dollars ($5,00.0.00)
appropriated in Section 1 of this ordinance shall be expended in
the purchase of the lands described hereafter and shall be paid to
the owners of said lands and to Read - Stevenson & Dick, Inc. as
indicated hereafter:
Owner Property
Deming Investment Co. Lots Ten (10), Eleven (11),
Twelve (12), Block 135,
Original City of Little hock,
Arkansas.
Section 3. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
issue the warrant of the City of Little Rock to the parties named
above in the amount mentioned for the purchase of the described
real estate on delivery of an adequate deed of conveyance of the
premises set out in Section 2 of this ordinance and on presentation
to the Mayor of the City of Little Rock of sufficient proof of a
merchantable title in the parties named.
Section 4. Immediately on the acquisition of the legal or
equitable title to the real property described above, the Mayor and
City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to offer to convey
said lands to the United States of America to induce the

United States of America to erect a building thereon to be used
by the City of Little Rock as a y -ublic health center.
Section 5. WHEREAS, the efficient conduct of the public,
health program of the City of Little hock is of utmost concern to
each and every citizen and necessary to the peace, health, safety
and well -being of the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas, NOW
THEREFORE, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
