AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6312; FIXING THE ROUTE
THROUGH THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO BE USED BY CERTAIN TRUCKS
TRANSPORTING FREIGHT ON U.S. HIGHWAY NO. 70 AND U. S. HIGHWAY
NO. 65; FIXING PENALTIL'S FOR VIOL M ONS; REPEALING ALL ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
IT QRDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE .,ROOK,,.-.
SECTION 1. From and after the passage of this ordinance
all freight or other commodities transported through Little
Rock on U. S. Higtray No. 70 by 'L-,-.lick shall use the following
route:
When approaching Little hock from the North, said trucks
shall proceed South from the Broadway bridge to 9th and
Broadway, thence west on 9th Street to Cross Street, thence
South on Cross Street to Wright Avenue, thence west on Wright
Avenue to Asher Avenue, thence west on Asher Avenue to the
city limits.
When approaching Little Rock from the South on Highway
70, said trucks shall proceed east on Asher Avenue to its
junction with Wright Avenue, thence east on Wright Avenue
to Cross Street, thence North on Cross Street to 9th Street,
thence east on 9th Street to Broadway, thence North on
Broadway to Broadway bridge and across same.
SECTION 2. From and after the passage of this ordinance
all freight or other commodities transported through Little
Rock on U.S. Highway 65 by truck shall use the following
route:
When approaching Little Rock from the North, said trucks,
shall proceed from the Broadway bridge south on Broadway Street
to llth Street, thence east on 11th Street to Rock btreet,
thence south on Rock Street to East Twenty -first Street, thence
east on Twenty- -first Street to Barber Street, thence South
on Barber Street to its junction with U.b. Highway No. 65,
thence West on U.S. Highway 65 to the city limits. When
approaching Little nock frnm the South on Highway 65, said
truaks,shall proceed east from the city limits to the, junction
of 'Barber Street with Highway 65, thence North on Barber Street
to East Twenty -first Street, thence west on East Twenty -first
Street to Rock Street, thence North on Rock Street to 11th
Street, thence on 11th Street to Broadway,-thence North on
Broadway to the Broadway Bridge.
SECTION 3. Ordinance No. 6312 is amended in accordance
with the foregoing provisions of Sections 1 and 2 of this
ordinance.

SECTION 5. -In the wwabt that any shipment by truck ,on
any.U. S. Highways mentioned above originates within the City
of Little Roch and is destined for a point outside the City
of Little Rock, said shipment is transported on the appropriate
route as described in Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance, at
the point nearest the place of origin,..bf,'said shipment and
said route shall be followed thenceforth.
SECTION 6. "Truck" is defined to be any vehicle or common
carrier for hire propelled by an oil or gasoline engine, and
designed to carry a load of one thousand pounds or more
exclusive of the empty weight of the vehicle.
SECTION 7. Any person, firm, or corporation who drives
or operates a truck in violation of the terms of this ordi-
nance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in
the Municipal Court shall pay a fine of not less than Five
Dollars ($5.00) not more than One Hundred Dollars 0100.00)0
SECTION 8. The regulation of traffic on t'De streets of
Little Rock being vital to the public- peace, health and safety
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
