ORDINANCE NO. 6524.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT WITH DOUGLAS G. BROWN FOR THE DISPOSAL OF
GARBAGE, TRASH, REFUSE, WASTE, ETC. COLLECTED BY THE SAN*
ITATION DEPARTMENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND F'OR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS the present contract for disposing of garbage,
waste, trash, refuse, eto.`oollected by the Sanitation Depart -

i ment is about to terminate and,
i WHEREAS the City does not possess adequate facilities
{ for the disposal of such; and,
WHEREAS Douglas G. Brown, after proper advertisement,
has submitted the only bid and has offered to provide certain
disposal facilities and,
WHEREAS said disposal by Douglas G. Brown is advantageous
to the City of Little Rock, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby requested
and authorized to enter into a contract with Douglas G. Brown
for the disposal of the garbage, waste, trash, refuse, etc.
collected by the Sanitation Department, upon the following
terms and conditions:
A. Douglas G. Brown shall furnish, at his own expense,
a suitable tract of ground for use in the disposing of the
garbage, waste, trash, refuse, etc.) collected by the Sanita-
tion Department.
B. The contract shall be executed with Douglas G. Brown
and shall be for a period of two years with an option of
'rsaswsl Ror.Douglas .. Brown for an 'additional year.
f C. The cost shall be $1.00 a year, to be paid by Douglas

G. Brown and the providing of a suitable place for the di$-
'posal of the garbage, waste, trash, refuse, eto "antioned
above.
SECTION 2. The providing of an adequate place for the
disposal of garbage, waste, trash, refuse, ete.,of the City

of Little. Rock, being vital to the public peace, health and
safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval.
