THE QUESTION OF THE ANNE*A TO T. IrB. Rt3C8` - :1 ARKANSAS, OF CERTAIN LANDS CONTIGUOUS'TO SAID CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND LOCATED IN PULASKI COUNTY,ARKANSAS, (SAID LANDS LYING IN TOWNSHIP! ONE EM�'.11,NNt-NORTH OF THE BASE LINE, AND RANGEh ELEVEN,TWELVE AND THIRTEEN, WEST OF THE FIFTH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN); DIRECTING THE VARIOUS CITY OFFICIALS TO TAKE ANY NECESSARY STEPS TO ACCOMPLISH SAID ANNEXATION; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS certain real property hereinafter described and located in Pulaski County,Arkansas, is contiguous to the City of Little Rook, Arkansas, and, WHEREAS said real property has become improved by the ereotion and occupancy of various houses, residences and other struo- tures thereon; and, WHEREAS THE City Council of Little Rook,Arkansas, has found, "-°'"Inf&- iere -'by - 'finds , as a fact, that the best interests of the City of Little Rooks Arkansas will be protected by annexing said territory to be a part of the City of Little Rook, now# therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNDIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCKI ARKANSAS . 9 SECTION 1. The question of annexation of the above describ- ed real property shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Little Rock,Arkansas, at the next annual muni- cipal election held following the passage of this ordinance. Section 3. In the event that a majority of the qualified at the election electors,,mentioned in Section 2 of this ordinance vote in favor of the annexation to the City of Little Roek,Ar .ansas, of the territory hereinabove described in Section 1 of this ordinance, the Mayor and the City Clerk and City Attorney and other city officials are hereby instructed and directed to take any and all appropriate steps necessary, desirable or expedient to complete the annexation of said lands and terri- tory,or any part thereof, to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, as may be now or hereafter provided by law. Section 4. The establishment of regular boundaries to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and the bringing in to the City of Little Rock of the above described improved territory now lying beyond the present City limits,is hereby found to be vital to the public peace,health and safety; an emergency is hereby declared to exist,and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, Passed: plarch 3, 1943.
