LITTLE ROCS POLICE DEPARTMENT, FIXING SALARIES THEREFOR, RELAXING
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCS, ARKANSAS:

positions in the Little Rook Police Department to be known as
"Special Police" who shall hssist the regular police force
and who shall discharge such other duties as the Chief of Police
may designate.

SECTION 2. The
persons chosen
to
fill the positions created
by Seetiop 1 of this
ordinance shall
be
chosen by the Chief of

and the Police
Committee;

be residents or
electors of the City of

given preference over all other

persons chosen
to
fill the positions
created in Section 1 of this ordinance may be any age between
t,w-enty -one_ (2 1 ) and sixty (6b) years old.
SECTION 3. Persons chosen to fill the positions created
by Section 1 of this ordinance shall each receive a salary of
$135.00 per month.
SECTION 4. The employment created under the preeeeding
sections of this ordinance shall terminate twelve (12) months
after the effective date of this ordinance.
SECTION 5. The protection of the citizens against the

depredation of crime being vital to the public peace, health
end safety, an emergenoy is hereby declared to exist, and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
