AN ORDINANCE CREATING VARIOUS POSITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT IN
THE CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, FIXING SALARIES, DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There are hereby created the following
positions of employment in the Health Department of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Janitor
Clinic Attendant
Typist - PBX Switchboard Operator.
SECTION 2. The persons to fill the positions created
by Section 1 of this ordinance shall be chosen by the Civil
Service Commission in the manner provided by law; and said
persons shall discharge the duties that are usual and in-
cident to the positions created hereby.
SECTION S. The persons chosen to fill the positions
created by Sectionlof this ordinance shall receive the
salary set opposite the respective position as follows:
Janitor: $85.00 per month.
Clinic Attendant: $75.00 per month.
Typist PBX Switchboard Operator: $100.00 per month
for the first six months of employment; $110.00
per month after the first six months of employ-
ment.
SECTION 4. The maintenance of an efficient and
- adequate staff for the discharge of the duties of the City
Health- Department being vital to the public peace, health
and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage.
