AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE
CHIEF OF POLICE; PROVIDING THAT SAID POSITIONV SHALL BE FILLED
BY A WOMAN TO BE CHOSEN? BY THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION;
FIXING THE SALARY OF SAID POSITION; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE'IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created the position of
Special. Assistant to the Chief of Police of the Little Rock
Police Department, who shall be a woman and who shall be
chosen by the Civil Service Commission in the manner provided
by law.
SECTION 2. The person chosen to fill the position
created in Section 1 of this ordinance shall have the duty
of working with the Chief of Police and any persons designated
by him in the control of juvenile delinquency in the City of
Little Roek,t``Arkansas; and she shall have the further duties
of advising with the Chief of Police and the various City
officials in controlling and formulating plans for controlling
juvenile delinquency in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. The person chosen to fill the position of
employment created in Section 1 of this ordinance shall
receive a salary of $150.00 per month, paid as the salaries
of other City employees are paid.
SECTION 4. The control of juvenile delinquency being
vitally connected with the public peace, health and safety,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance
shali`be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
