AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING A BOND WHICH THE CITY TREASURER OF LITTLE
ROCK SHALL MAKE AS CUSTODIAN OF FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE
WATERWORKS SYSTEM OF LITTLE ROCK
WHEREAS, the statutes of Arkansa s provide that the City Treasurer
of Little Rock shall be custodian of the funds derived from the income
received from the waterworks system of the city; and
WHEREAS, it further requires that he shall give bond fixed and
4jppiioved* by the City Council of tittle Rock for the faithful discharges
of his duties as custodian of such funds: NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAIAiED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. The Treasurer of the City of Little Rock shall re-
ceive and be custodian of all funds derived from the waterworks system
of: the city of Little Rock or belonging to said waterworks system and
he shall execute a good and sufficient bond with corporate surety in
such amount as the waterworks commission may from time to time designate,
but in no event less than the penal sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars
($50,000), conditioned that the said Treasurer shall faithfully and truly
discharge the duties of his said office as custodian of the funds of
the Little Rock Municipal Water Works of the City of Little Rock as
required by law and at the expiration of his term of office shall faith-
fully account for and pay over to his successor in office, or the person
lawfully entitled to receive the same, all moneys, books, goods, valuables
and other property of the said Little Rock Municipal Water 0orks.
Section 2. Hereafter the City Treasurer of the City of Little
Rock at the time of filing his regular bond 4asooliar shall file the
bond herein provided for co- extensive with his term of office, which
#4A11 be in addition to the bond given for general city purposes.
Section 3. The cost of said bond shall be paid from the funds
(.. of the Little Rock Municipal Water Works.
Section 4. The City Treasurer of the City of Little Rock has
heretofore made a bond covering deposit of these funds, which bond has

now expired, and a new bond is required immediately for the protec-
i � .'of said funds in accordanew- 'with, the terms of this ordinance,
and that the execution of the bond embodied in this ordinance is
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health
and safety; and an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance
shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
