AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS
TO PURCHASE FOR-THE USE OF THE FIRE DEPART ?JTENT ONE FIRE SIREN,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. The Board of Public. Affairs is hereby authorized
and directed to purchase for the use of the Little Rock Fire
Department the following equipment
1 12 Volt Electric Fire Siren of a Coaster Type with
Oscillating Red Light in a Chrome Finish, said siren
to be complete with switches and cables necessary
for installation and without brake.
SECTION 2. Because the efficient administration of the
• Fire Department calls for the use of adequate mechanical equip-
ment including electric sirens, and because the Fire Department
is in need of an additional electric siren in order to protect
properly the citizens of Little Rock and their property against
fire, an emergency is declared to exist; and this ordinance,
being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health
and safety, shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage.
