A1T ORDINANCE APPROVEM THE PURCHASE OF FIVE FORD CARS FOR THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT, 1WKING t�._nPROPRIATION FOR THE AFORESAID PURCHASE AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
�N HEREAS, The Gity Council authorized the purchase of cars for the Police
Department of the City of Little Rock, and
V- ,HEREAS Five Ford Cars have been allotted to the gity of Little Rock
by the tnited States 'reasury Department, Procurement Div= *Lsion, Fort
Worth, Texas, at the price of X1114.84 each, and
YMEREAS, The Board of Public riffairs has accepted the contract of the
United States Treasury Department and bought the aforesaid five cars,
subject to the approval of the City Council.
NOVI, THEREFORE, BE ITP ORDA12ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ?'??E CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKkNT SAS.
Section 1. The action of the Board of Public Affairs for the pur-
chase of the aforesaid cars is hereby confirmed and approved.
SECTION 2. The sum of $51574.20 is hereby appropriated out of
the City General Fund for the purchase of the aforesaid cars, and the
City Clerk and the Mayor are hereby directed to draw a warrant in the
aforesaid amount, payable to the proper payee as purchase price of the
aforesaid cars.
Section Due to the fact that the City will be in urgent need
-of Police cars in the near future, and the public peace, and safety
of our citizens depends largely on the proper functioning of our Police
Department, an4 emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
